"What's That Smell aka Mom I Need a Regular Lunch" by Aster Hung
– Hiding in Plain Sight –
Camouflage features seventy international illustrators and designers who are pulling off the veil on the concept of what it means to be invisible. Artists created work exploring the concepts of blending in, assimilating, and adapting to their surroundings. Whatever the reason, we're constantly in hiding in one way or another. The art of camouflage spans the political, aesthetic, scientific, magical, psychological and social realms. The Camouflage Exhibition is on display May 26th - July 14th, 2017.

What's That Smell aka Mom I Need a Regular Lunch
11" x 14"
About this piece:
How many of us have asked for a 'regular lunch?' By trying to fit in, I'd isolated myself from my culture and the things that I love. The aromas of my childhood bring me back to noisy street markets on warm summer nights. 'Mom, I'll just get school lunch,' I'd say. I'm 23 now and still afraid to eat in front of others.
