Color: Poppy / #E42F0C
12" x 16"
About this piece:
The poppy flower and its bright red color has been a symbol of both death and sleep since the ancient Greeks. Its color recalls the color of blood while the plant itself can be used as a powerful sedative to numb pain. Contrasting life and death but maintaining a feeling of deep melancholy this piece pushes the emotions this color has come to represent for thousands of years.
About this artist:
I'm an artist living in Seattle and enjoying the beauty of the North West. I love to tell stories and my favorite means of doing that is through images. I'm inspired by my surroundings and try to convey the feelings of what I see in my illustrations.
