About this piece:
This illustration delves into the troubled past of America told through the color Navajo White. Navajo White is the color of the flag of the Navajo nation but was also a standard interior paint color in American homes from the 1970s-90s. This illustration explores the relationship between these houses and the stolen land that they are built on, tied together by a delicate cream color despite a violent and tragic history.
