Camouflage features seventy international illustrators and designers who are pulling off the veil on the concept of what it means to be invisible. Artists created work exploring the concepts of blending in, assimilating, and adapting to their surroundings. Whatever the reason, we're constantly in hiding in one way or another. The art of camouflage spans the political, aesthetic, scientific, magical, psychological and social realms. The Camouflage Exhibition is on display May 26th - July 14th, 2017.

About this piece:

An illustration about the concept of camouflage as reflected in the home decor you choose to surround yourself with. I feel that people greatly match their safe spaces that they can decorate. When you go out furniture shopping with people, you can sometimes predict what they'll like and buy based on what you know about them. In my illustration, there is a shop holding many tapestries and rugs but only one fits with the girl who is shopping around.

About this artist:

Shelby Hacker is a Maryland-raised illustrator living in Baltimore City. She received a BFA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. She loves concept art, character illustration and drawing cute girls in cute clothes. She finds a lot of inspiration in her work from Romantic period paintings and art books from her favorite movies and video games. When she's not drawing, she likes to cook and watch re-runs of Grey's Anatomy.


Purchasing Limited Edition Prints:
All prints are made per order on archival, premium matte paper with archival inks. Prints will be individually wrapped in a poly bag and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube within one week of your purchase. For national orders, you can expect your purchased print(s) within 10 days of purchase, while international shipping will vary. **We are a small team and are only able to fill orders on Wednesdays and Fridays. As soon as your package has filled, you will receive an email confirmation and tracking number. There may be short processing period between packaging and shipping. We are not responsible for stolen, damaged, or unclaimed packages.

Purchasing Originals:
If you purchase an original artwork from the exhibition, it will be carefully packaged and shipped after the closing of the exhibition. You will be notified when your package has shipped. We send all originals with tracking, insurance, and signature confirmation.
